Joe Walmach
A classically trained percussionist who began playing at the age of 4 on his father's old snare drum.
During his school years Joe was consistently 1st chair in all of the percussion sections he joined.
He was 1st chair of the North Jersey Regional HS band at age 15.
He also won numerous outstanding musicianship and improvisation awards while drumming in state wide jazz band competitions.
Holds a Bachelor's degree in Music Education at the University of Bridgeport.
Studied jazz drumming with Randy Jones of Dave Brubeck's band.
Was first call percussionist for local musicals in the Bridgeport area.
Multiple tours with John Raitt (father of blues artist Bonnie Raitt).
14 years as a band/choral director in the NJ public schools while maintaining an active performing career. He has worked in all of the Pocono resorts since 1985, has played jazz with most of the top players of the Pocono region and toured/recorded with Lehigh Valley based Latin/Jazz band called Hot Clave Bop.
